De Atramentis inks are exclusive handmade inks made in Germany. This Document ink range is permanent and waterproof and is suitable for use in fountain pens, making them perfect for sketching. The colours can be mixed together to create any number of waterproof colours and the Document Ink Thinner can be used to dilute the inks to further expand your colour pallete.
Our ink testing was completed on Clairefontaine Triomphe paper with a TWSBI medium nib. The ink was dry and smudge proof after 20 seconds on this paper, but please note that the drying time may vary on other papers especially if it has been sized. We found that blue inks dry much more quickly than the other colours, they were also more free flowing and have a tendency to bleed through poorer quality paper. The water test was completed once the ink was fully dry and showed no smudging or movement of the ink at all.

Nib choices for fountain pens
If we show the pen with medium nib in stock it means we have stock of that pen. If you select another nib size and the website doesn't say "in stock" we can usually supply that pen immediately as we keep extensive supplies of nibs from all our manufacturers
