The Pilot Capless was created on October 21, 1963 in Tokyo and its retractable version in 1964 for the Olympic Games in Japan. This fountain pen houses a mechanism allowing its nib to retract removing the need for a cap hence comes its name: the Capless fountain pen. October 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of the Pilot Capless and in Japanese culture, year 60 (kanreki) is seen as the beginning of a new chapter, or a rebirth, and is filled with hope and possibilities.
The packaging for this limited edition draws upon the Kanreki (還暦), using the traditional and lunar Japanese calendar detailing. The beautiful gloss red colour symbolises protection for such a significant event.
A numbered Limited Edition version of the famous Pilot Capless retractable fountain pen (also known as Namiki Vanishing Point in some markets).

Nib choices for fountain pens
If we show the pen with the default nib selection shown in stock it means we have stock of that pen. If you select another nib size and the website doesn't say "in stock" we can usually supply that pen immediately as we keep extensive supplies of nibs from all our manufacturers.
