I have just received My Lamy Al-Star in black having only ordered it one working day ago! It arrived in the first class post as promised, excellent service.The pen was about £2 more expensive at the writing desk than its closest competitor but I wanted a black nib extra fine and the writing desk was the only online stationary specialist site that offered that product combination that I could find so for 2 quid I am over the moon.on first impressions the Lamy ink is a little washed out but that's not an issue when it runs out I will probably use the black quick ink that Parker make.The extra fine nib isn't a bit scratchy and the Lamy grip seems to have improved how I hold the pen making my writing more consistent.All round good purchase and probably not my last from the Writing desk!!
