The Lamy 2000 is a design classic - launched in 1966 and remaining in continuous production since. All pens and pencils in this range feature the same combination of brushed resin and stainless steel and the unique spring-loaded clip - a first for Lamy when it was lauched.
The fountain pen is available with a wide range of nib sizes: EF, F, M, B, BB, OM, OB and OBB but note that Lamy 2000 fountain pen nibs tend to run a little wider than other pens so it may be wise to order a point size smaller than you would usually use, eg a fine instead of a medium (OB and OBB to special order). Nibs are semi-hooded to prevent ink drying when left uncapped and are made from 14kt gold with platinum plating. A large ink capacity is ensured due to its piston-filling mechanism (with visible ink-window). Please note that only bottled ink can be used.
The partner mechanical pencil is available with either 0.5mm and 0.7mm lead diameter and has an eraser under the push-button. A ballpen, multi-colour ballpen and rollerball are also available. Additional refills for the pencil and ballpen are also available.
Also in the Lamy 2000 range are the premium wooden ballpens "Taxus" and "Blackwood" with barrels turned from yew and grenadilla respectively.
